Good/Bad/Fab

It's Friday! And though there are only three hours left in the day, I thought it was still necessary to post my Good/Bad/Fab for the week! What's yours? Head over to Mommy's Still Fabulous and link up tonight!

The Good
Last night was the Fall kick-off for Book Club with a group of gals I call the "Gymbo moms." We all met at Gymboree Play and Music when our kids were still itty-bitty babies. I hosted, which meant I also got to pick the book (Kelly Corrigan's "Lift"). It turned out to be a great evening! We sat around my outdoor fireplace, snuggled under blankets, ate, gossiped, and discussed the reading (that part was a very, small portion of the evening!). We gabbed a lot about preschool (many of our kids started last week) and midgets (er...little people) of all things! Great fun that lasted wee into the late hours of the evening!

The Bad
I went to the 2010 "You've Just Been Spotted" party at Pretend City on Monday night. My blog didn't win, as I predicted it wouldn't -- but that's not the "bad" for the week. The bad is, I turned into the biggest wallflower ever! I stuck like glue to a real-life friend/blogger and didn't meet hardly anyone as I intended to do. I'll be writing an in-depth post about how lame I was next week.

The Fab
This weekend, Sunday, 9/19, the Orange County Register will feature me and several other women who have battled breast cancer. The article is to support the upcoming Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure OC event on 9/26. Anyway, I got a call tonight that it's already available online! So, check it out here!

Good/Bad/Fab - Weekend Edition

Have you checked out my friend Erica at Mommy's Still Fabulous yet? I love her. She's funny and super smart. And I so would have went to the SITS Philadelphia Bloggy Boot Camp if I knew she was letting people stay at Casa de Fabulous!

Anyway, here's my Good/Bad/Fab of the week - the Weekend Edition (read: I was too busy to get it up by Friday).

The Good
I went to my first-ever-real-life-not-hiding-behind-my-computer-reading-a-message-board-online support group on Wednesday. It was a Young Breast Cancer Survivor group held at St. Joseph's Cancer Center in Orange. It wasn't bad. In fact, it was good. I don't do so great when people are overly emotional, like outwardly crying, and I was fearful there would be a lot of that. But there wasn't. A breast surgeon from St. Joe's answered our questions for 90 minutes. Do you know how rare it is to get a doctor's FULL attention for 90 minutes? It was awesome. I'm going back on October 13!

The Bad
You all know that Golden Rule where you are NEVER to ask a woman if she's expecting? Because what if she's not and now you've totally just insulted her. Well, I'm afraid I committed a similar sin this week. I was twittering (ah, slightly obsessed) and I noticed the photo avatar of someone I follow. I wasn't sure what it was.

So I tweet:
@faketwitterhandle BTW, what's your pic of? A butt?
@faketwitterhandle I'm SO embarrassed! Of course, it's a baby bump!
I'm a dork. Very cute!

The Fab
Two really fabulous things happened this week. First, Team McLovin exceeded our registration goal! I really pushed for a 60-person team and we're currently at 72 right now! Totally fab! And, second, my blog was nominated for a 2010 "You've Just Been Spotted" Blog Award! Winners will be announced on Monday, September 13th! I ain't got a chance in hell but it's super fab to be nominated!

Good/Bad/Fab

The wonderful Erica at Mommy's Still Fabulous is hosting her first link up for Good/Bad/Fab and I thought I'd join in because I have no other ideas about what to write about I love a good meme.

Anyway, it's my job to blog about the Good/Bad/Fab of the week. Here it is:

The Good
Our Disneyland annual passes are finally free from blackout dates and we celebrated with new friends on Monday. I went with an old friend I know from high school and her two adorable little girls. They are huge Disney fans and really know the ends and outs of the park. Her suggestion was to hit Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel first for breakfast and then head over to the park. Jackpot! My kid was in heaven because she got an up close and personal meet-and-greet with Snow White, Jasmine, Baloo from The Jungle Book, and did the twist with Goofy! It was the best $40 spent the whole day!

The Bad
My 80 year old Grandma had a stroke early in the week. Her and I don't have much of a relationship these days and haven't spoken to each other in nearly ten years. It's a complicated. I do wish her a speedy recovery so she can celebrate her 81st birthday next month.

The Fab
Team McLovin reached our fundraising goal this morning with a $3,882.00 donation from Marina Auto Body! What a windfall too! This generous donation has previously been given to another team who participates in the Komen Race for the Cure . Fortunately, for my team, that other team isn't walking this year. So, Team McLovin is the happy recipient!
