The Vision: A World Without Breast Cancer

Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
Sunday, September 27, 2009
Newport Beach, CA

I am so proud to report that TEAM MCLOVIN has 56 registered participants for the Race for the Cure! Not only are we totally going to represent on race day but we have currently raised over $2,000 for the Susan G. Komen organization!

A special thanks to all of you who have made a donation. Your support is greatly appreciated! 75% of funds raised will stay in Orange County to fund screening, treatment, and education programs - including mammograms. The remaining 25% will go directly to the Komen Award and Research Grant Program to fund global grants to discover a cure!

Fun fact about Team McLovin: our name comes from my daughter's favorite little lovey, McLovin. Yes, we named "McLovin" after the character in the movie "Superbad." His catchphrase was: "I am McLovin" therefore ours is "We are McLovin!"

Race Day Information

7:30 am 5K run/walk
8:00 am One Mile Fun Walk
8:45 am Survivor Parade

Please be lined up at the start of our race time (remember, we are participating as individuals - it is not mandatory to "run" or "walk" as a team). Due to course constraints, those who miss the start of the race will be asked to hang in the Expo area. If you'd rather just chill in the tailgate tent or check out the Expo - that's fine with me (your Team Captain)!

Team McLovin Tailgate Tent
What's an event with friends without a little tailgating? Our designated tailgating spot is located in TEAM LAND, located in the parking lot directly across from the main Expo Entrance off of San Clemente. Look for our TEAM MCLOVIN banners!

We will have snacks and drinks at the tent. Feel free to bring something to share!

A celebration and tribute to breast cancer survivors and to honor those who have lost their battle against the disease. Also, you can recognize the special people in your lives affected by breast cancer with an "In Celebration Of" or "In Memory Of" placard. Pick them up from the Zeta Tau Alpha booth.

Kidszone
Fun for the kiddies too! Located in the Expo area at the corner of San Clemente and Santa Cruz. Baby Strollers/Jogging Strollers are allowed but please line up behind those who are running.
