A catalog came from Paper Source last week. They had a whole bunch of really cute books and journals - gift ideas for Mother's Day. Instead of waiting until May 9th to roll around, I decided do a little shopping for myself!
I picked this one up: "My Mom: Her Stories, Her Words."
Now, I get really weird about actually hand writing in journals like these. I would need the handwriting to be perfect. No misspelled words, no smudges.
Well, my handwriting isn't perfect. It's downright sloppy these days. So, I've created a page on this blog to answer the writing prompts. This way I can include photos as well. And go back and edit, if necessary! I'm thinking I might eventually have it printed and bound for my daughter.
Oh yeah, back to the journal. It's a really sweet collection of questions designed to "spark memories" of yours or your mother's life. The responses are meant to be shared!
I would have been against this sort of thing a year ago. Doing it during my treatment would have made me feel like I would die from cancer and that it was necessary to document my life so my little girl had something to remember me by. Now, it's just because I've got a crap-ass memory and I don't want her to miss out on the good stuff!
BUT WAIT! What should I do with this adorable book after I've used the prompts for my Q&A with Mommy page? It's my first GIVEAWAY!
