...when they are for a good cause!
I know it seems like every blog I've posted lately has been to support something related to breast cancer. The items I'm blogging about are either special to me, something I personally like or have enjoyed, or something that I think you can benefit from. I am certainly not making a dime off of anything I happen to promote. So just think of it as "Wendy's Favorite Things" (a-ha moment! A blog about my favorite things...ooh, more to come!)
So, if anyone knows me well, you know I love cupcakes. I've tried out a few here and there around Orange County. The newest place I've discovered but haven't tried yet is Frostings Cupcakes in Lake Forest. I'm dying to taste their breakfast cupcake. Hello? Did you hear me? Break. Fast. Cup. Cake. And they have a full coffee bar too. Mom's morning out, anyone?
Anyway, hands down, Sprinkles makes the best red velvet. It's to die for (oops, last night's Rachel Zoe episode seems to have affected my vocabulary). Well, it looks like Sprinkles will have a very special breast cancer awareness cupcake during the first week of October. 100% of proceeds will benefit the Entertainment Industry Foundation's Women's Cancer Research Fund. It's a strawberry cupcake with a pink sugar ribbon. Mmmm... Drop in on Sprinkles during October 1 - 7 to help find a cure for women's cancers!
Another yummy bakery baking up cupcakes for a great cause is SusieCakes. The 6th Annual Cupcakes for a Cause benefits CancerCare for Kids. A portion of the proceeds goes to the CancerCare for Kids Program which provides free support services to children and their families affected by cancer. SusieCakes is the only bakery in Orange County participating! Pop in and pick up a specially decorated cupcake beginning September 21 - 27th. Looking for a great coffee to go with that cupcake? Stop in a few doors down for Kean Coffee. Their drinks are bananas (oops, there's that Rachel Zoe lingo again).
