I'm a huge fan of the original Beverly Hills, 90210. And today has been deemed "90210" day because it's September 2, 2010 or 9.02.10!
I loved this show from it's premiere. I was the dork who would tear out the ad from the TV Guide and pin it on the bulletin board in my bedroom. I also taped each episode and watched it again after school the next day. I wrote notes to friends asking "Did you watch BH? Can you believe Kelly and Dylan kissed?" I even cried my eyes out on finale night wondering what would happen to Kelly, Dylan, Donna, David, Steve and Janet.

I'm a little embarrassed to admit but I still watch re-runs of this show. A lot. It shows twice daily on SOAPNET. And it takes about six months to show the entire series. So, needless to say, I've seen every episode numerous times. I tend to freak my husband out when I start reciting lines from memory. Oh, P.S. SOAPNET was bought and is changing to 24-hour toddler programming early next year. I'm freaking out a little. Another channel has to pick it up, right?
Anyway, I thought I'd list my top five episodes (in no particular order) in honor of the official 90210 day.
1. Season 1, episode 13: Slumber Party
Brenda hosts a slumber party at Casa Walsh and some chick named Amanda, who've we've never seen before or ever again, crashes the party and makes the girls play "Skeletons in the Closet."
2. Season 1, episode 21: Spring Dance
The gang goes to the West Bev Spring Dance. Brenda and Kelly end up wearing the same black and white dress. Kelly gives Brandon a radish boutonniere. Brenda gives up the goods to Dylan. We find out Steve's adopted. Donna wears a huge red dress, Kelly wins Spring Queen, and Andrea shows up stag. I can still hear "Smile" by The Rave-Ups (the band playing at the dance).

3. Season 5, episode 18: Hazardous to Your Health
Dylan and Val go down to Mexico to get Dylan's inheritance back after it was stolen by Kevin and Suzanne. Kelly gets wrapped up with "The New Evolution" and Professor Finely at CU after surviving a fire. Does anyone know who the photo is of below?

It's Wings Hauser (who?). He played J. Jay Jones (AKA "Jonesy") the FBI agent who helped Dylan and Valerie rescue Erica from Kevin and Suzanne.
4. Season 6, episode 10: One Wedding and a Funeral
Dylan and Toni get hitched but Toni is killed after her dad sends a hit man to kill Dylan. I still think this episode is tops in terms of acting. Luke Perry is awesome when he pulls Toni's dead body from the Speedster. And this was the episode when I decided that Lyle Lovett's "Like My Baby" would be my wedding song too!

5. Season 2, episode 25: Meeting Mr. Pony
Brenda gets robbed at gunpoint while studying late at the Peach Pit. There's nothing exceptionally exciting about this episode other than I loved the clothes they were putting Brenda in at the time.
Well there you have it! Were you ever a fan on 90210? Who were your faves? Were you a Dylan girl or a Brandon girl? Did you hate Brenda or Kelly? I'd love to know!
Happy 90210 day!
