Sad Showing for Lids

Five, maybe six, weeks ago I went door-to-door in my neighborhood and left flyers asking my neighbors to collect as many pink Yoplait lids as possible and leave them in the container on our porch. I had planned on taking them to the local Komen office where the Orange County affiliate will directly benefit from the donation.

So far...I've collected three lids. THREE! And I think they are all from my next door neighbor.

I left flyers at nearly two hundred houses and I set up a cute pink box and pink ribbon flag on the porch so there is no confusion on where to deposit the lids. I really thought I would have collected more.

Thankfully, Yoplait's "Save Lids to Save Lives" program runs until December 31, 2009. Maybe I can round up another three before then!
